Cold Harbor June 1864

George Wright’s VI Corps Neill’s Division, which included the 1st Vermont Brigade (the traditional 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Vermont Infantry Regiments, recently augmented by the 1st Vermont Infantry Regiment (aka 1st Vermont Heavy Artillery Regiment)). Just south of Neill’s Division was James Rickett’s Division, also VI Corps, which included the 10th Vermont infantry. They were facing Hoke’s Brigade of Pickett’s Division of Major General Richard Anderson’s First Corps.
The 17th Vermont Infantry was engaged near Bethesda Church, on the right had side of the Sneden map.
