Antietam 1862 (Sept 17)
========================================================================
========================================================================
The First Vermont Brigade was in the thick of the Battle of Antietam. The First Vermont Brigade was comprised of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th Infantry and the 1st U.S. Sharpshooters. The Sharpshooters were organized in West Randolph, VT September 13, 1861.
Below we have 3 images from a ca. 1862 map made shortly after the battle. First is the title, followed by a copy of the whole map with marks indicating where the Vermonters were. At the bottom we have an un-marked copy of the same map.
Thanks to Tom LeDoux for knowledge and research!
