Ancient Roads and Old Maps- #1
“Maps are not used nearly as much as they should be for historical research in your town”
Map publisher David Allen offers talks on old maps for local historical societies, libraries and civic groups.
His Powerpoint presentation describes the many state and local maps that are useful for historical research – many of which are not readily available in small towns.
The presentation include a poster display of several large state maps and prints of a few local maps for group viewing.
Allen describes how to use maps to discover an ancestors’s house.

These remarkable maps showed every road and the names and locations of each house.
Allen has scanned all of Vermont’s county wall maps onto CDROMs which are available for purchase.
